West Ham might have the chance to sign Sheffield United midfielder Sander Berge this summer, but it’s very complicated.
According to The Star, a third party has approached West Ham and asked whether the opportunity to sign Sander Berge from Sheffield United would be of interest to them.

Now, it is made clear that this person is not connected to either the Blades or the 25-year-old’s representatives. So quite what he has to do with Berge is a mystery at the moment.
The Blades signed Berge for a club record £22 million fee (BBC). And he has proven to be a fine addition for them.
The Star recently claimed that Sheffield United want around £35 million for Berge. That might represent decent value for the Hammers, but would the Blades really let him join a Premier League rival ahead of the new season?
Sander Berge has just been offered to West Ham
The Star claims that the Norwegian midfielder has bizarrely been offered to the Hammers but by a third party – someone who has nothing to do with Sheffield United or those who represent Berge.
So who knows how this one will play out. I must say though, I would love the towering Blades ace to move to the London Stadium this summer.
He is absolutely perfect for David Moyes’s setup at the London Stadium.
The Norwegian is a tenacious tackler, has bundles off energy and is very cool and composed in possession.
On top of that, he stands at 6ft 5in tall and is obviously a real threat from set-pieces.
Berge has been described as a ‘superb’ midfielder by The Athletic. He is a defensive midfielder by trade but actually flourished in a more advanced role last season, bagging six goals and five assists in 37 Championship games (Transfermarkt).
In my opinion, Sander Berge would be a huge upgrade on West Ham midfielder Tomas Soucek this summer.
If he is available for £35 million, and has in fact been offered to the Hammers, Moyes should not hesitate to bring him to the London Stadium.
