West Ham co-owner David Sullivan has taken a break from the Declan Rice talks on a £40m superyacht as Arsenal and Man City wait.
There have been a series of supposed developments in the tussle between Arsenal and Manchester City for West Ham captain Declan Rice over the last 48 hours.
But Arsenal and Man City can perhaps expect negotiation correspondence to slow down for a few of days.
There has been a flurry of speculation over the last 48 hours as Arsenal and Manchester City battle for Hammers hero Rice.
Sky Sports made a massive claim on Rice’s future yesterday, reporting that Man City had made a major breakthrough in the battle with Arsenal for Rice and were confident of a deal after West Ham talks.
Claim and counter claim as Rice deal threatens to become a saga
Reporter Michael Bridge even stated on Sky Sports News at 12.04pm on Friday that he had been told the Rice deal is ‘approaching the end game’ in Man City’s favour.
But Arsenal got a monumental boost this morning when it was revealed by a source close to West Ham majority stakeholder David Sullivan that Rice really does favour a move to the Emirates.
Regardless, though, the Gunners would clearly have to match Man City’s offer to get a deal done with Sullivan and co.
Thus far, Arsenal have failed to even come close.
The north Londoners have seen two completely unsatisfactory offers dismissed by West Ham.

Gunners supporters – like fans and indeed the board at West Ham – are frustrated with their club’s all too familiar low ball approach to the Rice negotiations.
Many fear Edu’s methods will once again cost Arsenal in the race for their prime target. Arsenal’s bids thus far have only guaranteed West Ham between £65m and £75m – with unrealistic add-ons.
Now West Ham co-owner Sullivan has taken a break from the Rice talks on a £40m superyacht as Arsenal and Man City wait.
Board confidant Sean Whetstone has revealed that Sullivan and fiancee Ampika Pickston have set off on holiday on superyacht Titania which costs nearly £500k per week to charter.

The couple are now spending some holiday time together in the Mediterranean sea.
So while Sullivan will clearly have access to his phone and emails, fans of West Ham, Manchester City and Arsenal perhaps shouldn’t expect any major developments until he returns.
Anxious City and Arsenal supporters can track Sullivan’s trip and return to London online.
“West Ham Chairman David Sullivan and Ampika Pickston are on holiday on Superyacht TITANIA which costs £484,00 per week to charter,” Whetstone said on Twitter alongside a series of pictures.
“The couple flew out from Stansted airport today on a private jet to France, where they boarded the £71m yacht at Bonifacio and are now in the Mediterranean sea.”
