West Ham bid to tie Bowen down

West Ham want Jarrod Bowen to sign a new deal which will make him a Hammer until  2030.

The winger signed from Hull City in 2020 for a £17.5m transfer fee plus £4.5m of add-ons on a five-year contract which expires in two years’ time.

The player is thought to earn £60,000 weekly, putting him behind many of the squad’s top earners. Still, West Ham are ready to reward the winger with a six-figure weekly wage, perhaps doubling his current wage package, including performance-related add-ons and bonuses.

The West Ham hierarchy do not want to be in the same situation as Declan Rice, with another star running down their contract.

Bowen’s representatives are PLG group which also represents Trent Alexander Arnold.

In 2020, his agents fought hard against a 50% pay cut clause if relegated to the championship; in the end, they negotiated a relegation clause to allow Bowen to leave the Hammers if relegated if a bid of £30m or over was received.
