Everton should look to accept an offer from Fulham for Demarai Gray.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has urged the Toffees to sanction the sale of the Jamaican winger as it would be in the best interests of both clubs.
West London club Fulham are interested in signing Everton forward Demarai Gray this summer, according to Sky Sports News.
Gray was signed from Bayer Leverkusen for just £1.7m in 2021 much to some Goodison Park acclaim. However, things haven’t quite turned out well during his two years at the club with Everton avoiding relegation in consecutive seasons.
Gray is about to enter the final year of his contract at Goodison Park. There is an option to extend it until 2025, however.
Last season, the winger contributed six goals and one assist in 36 matches in all competitions.
With a potential transfer on the cards, Agbonlahor believes it’s a move that will suit both Everton and Fulham.
“It’s one of them transfers that’s good for both player and club,” He told Football Insider.
“I do like Gray, he is a bit inconsistent, but, there’s a top player in there.
“But if you look at how many games he started last season, you can say that Sean Dyche doesn’t fancy him, so maybe the transfer is the right thing to do.
“Sell him to Fulham and use that money for a player that you fancy as a manager.
“I’m sure he will go on to do very good things at Fulham because he’s got all the attributes.”
