Hammers transfer round-up
The latest tittle tattle, gossip, news and rumours in a the shape of the Hammers transfer round-up. Some may be true, some might be poppycock but here is a very condensed version of the West Ham transfer news. Not exactly compelling bedtime reading but at least you’ll be up to date.
Victor Gyokeres
West Ham United have reportedly opened talks in the last 24 hours to try to finalise the transfer of Coventry City striker Victor Gyokeres. The Swedish international has impressed in the Championship, scoring 23 goals last season.
This feels like quite an old story, but Gyokeres is a decent player well suited to David Moyes.
Youssouf Fofana
Arsenal are reportedly alongside West Ham United in pursuing the potential transfer of Monaco midfielder Youssouf Fofana this summer.
The France international has looked hugely impressive with his displays for Ligue 1 Monaco. It’s not too surprising to see reports of growing interest from clubs in the Premier League. However the Arsenal link has the feel of mind-games/negotiations to leverage a Declan Rice deal.
Alex Scott
Yes, it’s Alex Scott time again but this one is slightly more believable.
Since making his debut in 2021, as a 17-year-old, Scott has attracted interest from Tottenham, Liverpool and more. Already making 80 + Championship appearances at Ashton Gate, Scott’s future is destined for the top-flight.
Amadou Onana
West Ham bid for Onana last summer, only for him to choose Everton instead.
An athletic player ideally suited to the Premier League. With the Toffee’s in a bit of financial trouble, would David Moyes go back in for him?
Of course he would. Moyesie chased Jesse Lingard for 2 years so I doubt he’ll give up easily.
