Now David Moyes wants to bring totally new Arsenal star to West Ham as a report makes a claim about outcast Nuno Tavares.
It seems West Ham’s British record sale of Declan Rice to Arsenal may not be the only business between the two clubs this summer.
The Hammers have been linked with Arsenal strikers Eddie Nketiah and Folarin Balogun as well as Emile Smith Rowe during negotiations for talisman Rice.
In the end Arsenal’s third offer of £105m was enough to get the deal done with no players included in any swap deal.
But it seems the Hammers are switching attentions to another Gunners player.
Now David Moyes wants to bring totally new Arsenal star to West Ham as a report makes a claim about outcast Nuno Tavares.
According to iNews, West Ham want to use £8m of the Rice money they are about to receive from Arsenal to sign left-back Tavares.
The report claims Moyes wants to add more competition for Aaron Cresswell.
But it is more likely to be competition for Emerson Palmieri with Cresswell winding down on his West Ham career and next season’s possibly being his last.
“West Ham are interested in Arsenal‘s Portugal U21 left-back Nuno Tavares,” iNews reports.
“Arsenal want to cash in on Tavares, who has just rounded off a spell in France with Marseille, as part of a squad overhaul designed to clear space for Rice and other new arrivals to supplement another title tilt.”
Tavares had a mixed time in France. He scored six times and enjoyed his most productive season as an attacking force with Igor Tudor claiming he was ‘good enough to play for Barcelona’.
But there were also reports that he was disciplined and dropped for not trying hard enough in training states the report.
iNews claims the player is keen to stay in England if possible. And it states the Hammers are the club who have shown the most interest.
