Declan Rice will be on the same money at Arsenal as he was reportedly offered by West Ham before snubbing the deal.
The Declan Rice saga between Arsenal and West Ham continues to drag on.
The big hold up is down to the period over which the Gunners pay the British transfer record £105 to the Hammers.
West Ham want it in a maximum of 18 months whereas Arsenal’s offer was set out over four years.
But it seems only a matter of time until the deal is sealed between West Ham and Arsenal.
It was reported at the weekend that a top source inside West Ham had insisted Rice was ‘determined’ to join Arsenal.

That resulted in Manchester City pulling out of the race, which has put some noses out of joint among Hammers fans who find it difficult to accept Rice pushing for a move to a London rival who have no recent proven track record of being able to provide the silverware and regular Champions League football he craves.
A move to a club like Man City would have been seen as more acceptable and palatable by West Ham fans.
Arsenal play in a smaller stadium than West Ham with lower average attendances too.
And Rice will be on the same money at Arsenal as he was reportedly offered by West Ham claims a new report.
It was reported back in December that West Ham had offered Rice the biggest contract in the club’s history.
In a last attempt to persuade Rice to stay, West Ham were said to have offered the midfielder a whopping £250,000 per week – which amounted to more than £100m over the course of the deal.
Report back in December laid out details of mammoth final attempt to get Rice to stay
That’s according to website 6foot2, who claimed the offer was to be put to Rice before the summer rolled around.
At the time the report predicted the chances of Rice and his father/agent Sean accepting the offer were ‘low’. And so it has proved.
“West Ham will have one last attempt to offer Declan Rice to sign a mega wage contract before next summer…” 6foot2 reports.
“Now the club will want one more throw of the dice with an offer of £250,000 per week or £13m per year to keep their captain long term.
“That offer would be worth a cool £100m over eight years to the defensive midfielder, but the chances are still low that an agreement can be reached.”
Rice push to join Arsenal will never sit well with some but this proves decision is not motivated by money
Some Hammers fans may find it galling then that Rice will be paid that same amount at Arsenal.
According to a report from The Daily Mail Rice’s long term contract at the Emirates is worth at least £250,000-per-week.
In Rice’s defence, though, as highlighted by co-owner David Sullivan in a candid interview with talkSPORT – Rice has already forfeited nearly £10m in wages from West Ham by refusing to sign the deal.
Which proves he is not motivated by money.
But instead by football and what he clearly sees as a move to play under a manager he feels can improve him even further as a player.
