Tottenham Hotspur are in talks with Galatasaray for a double deal involving Victor Nelsson and Nicolo Zaniolo
According to Turkish outlet Milliyet, Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a double raid of Galatasaray for Victor Nelsson and Nicolo Zaniolo in the ongoing summer transfer window.
This comes after news broke that Galatasaray vice-president Erden Timur was in London to hold talks for both players. The Turks are willing to part with the duo for around €60 million.
Tottenham, for their part, are trying to drive down the price by offering players in part-exchange. While it is unconfirmed as to who the players offered were, Galatasaray have dismissed the counter-proposal.
Thankfully for us, the Turks remain keen to open to an agreement and are still in talks with Tottenham. The onus is now on us to put forward an offer that can be deemed acceptable by all.
The north Londoners have enjoyed a fine start to the summer transfer window following the arrival of new boss Ange Postecoglou. Daniel Levy has already brought in goalkeeper Gugliemo Vicario and midfielder James Maddison to reinforce two key areas of the roster.
Signing another attacker like Zaniolo, who can play out wide on the right will give the north Londoners the option to deploy a freely flexible diamond up top. Harry Kane can lead the attack with Son Heung-min out on the left and Zaniolo on the right. Maddison will in all likelihood start as the number 10, feeding the trio with goalscoring opportunities.
With Davinson Sanchez touted to leave and Eric Dier’s inconsistency, Tottenham also need to bring in a centre-back or two. Negotiations for Clement Lenglet are ongoing but Nelsson given his traits could prove to be a hidden gem.

Landing both players for around €60 million is certainly a good deal for Tottenham. However, a major setback could prove to be Zaniolo’s interest in returning to Serie A with Juventus. It will be interesting to see how Daniel Levy approaches this deal in the coming weeks.
