The Daily Mail claims that the Hammers boss David Moyes has informed Flamengo of his intentions to sign Franca, 19.
The Flamengo teenager is a really exciting talent, and would be a tremendous addition to Moyes’s ranks at the London Stadium.
However, there appears to be a problem on the horizon…
Major West Ham blow with Newcastle set to make £21m bid for ‘unbelievable’ Matheus Franca
Globo Esporte reckon that the Toon could scupper the Hammers’ summer plans by signing the talented teenager this summer.
Flamengo want at least €25 million (£21 million) for Franca – an absolute bargain if you ask me.
TEAMtalk recently described the South American attacking midfielder as an ‘unbelievable’ player.
Franca has already bagged nine goals in 53 senior appearances for Flamengo (Transfermarkt) – a seriously impressive tally for someone so young.
The 19-year-old has blistering pace and exceptional ability on the football, as most Brazilian attacking players do!
£21 million for the youngster could end up being a brilliant value for money deal for whichever club wins the race for his signature this summer.
Unfortunately for West Ham though, it seems as if Newcastle are about to make a firm offer for Matheus Franca. And if the Magpies do move in to sign him, it could well be curtains for the Hammers.
