It’s no surprise that Hammers boss David Moyes might want to sign a new left-back with Aaron Cresswell set to turn 34 later this year.
It seems as though the Arsenal left-back will not come cheap though, if the Scot does indeed plan on signing him…
Arsenal are demanding a huge fee from West Ham for Nuno Tavares
TuttoMercatoWeb reckon that the north London club want £21 million for the Portuguese defender, with the Hammers chasing his signature.
That’s just too much money to pay for him in my opinion, especially considering how much he struggled with Arsenal the season before last.
However, the Portugal under-21 international has spent this season on loan with Marseille and has performed really well.
In 31 Ligue 1 outings, Tavares bagged six goals and averaged 1.8 tackles and 0.9 key passes per game (Who Scored).
Maybe if we could pick him up for closer to £10-15 million, he wouldn’t be such a bad signing. There are certainly a lot worse left-backs out there than the former Benfica defender.
Nuno Tavares possesses absolutely rapid speed and is very strong in the tackle, so he would certainly have something to offer West Ham.
I just feel like we will get priced out of this deal in the end if Arsenal refuse to budge on the price.
