A report has lifted the lid on Paul Nevin’s next destination after his shock West Ham United departure was announced today.
West Ham today announced the surprise and sudden exit of David Moyes’ highly-regarded assistant coach Paul Nevin.
Nevin became the latest assistant coach to leave West Ham following the departures in consecutive summers of Mark Warburton, Stuart Pearce and Alan Irvine.
The timing of the announcement was surprising, coming on the day West Ham returned to pre-season training.
Nevin was said to have masterminded West Ham’s set-pieces and is so highly rated he has become a permanent fixture of Gareth Southgate’s staff in the England setup.

West Ham announced Nevin has left the club by mutual consent and wants a new challenge elsewhere.
Now a report has lifted the lid on Nevin’s next destination after his shock West Ham departure.
According to The Telegraph, Nevin will team up with former Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira as part of his coaching staff at French club Strasbourg.
“First-team coach Paul Nevin is set to join Strasbourg in France to be part of Patrick Vieira’s backroom staff following his appointment at the Ligue 1 team,” the report states.
Strasbourg finished 15th in Ligue 1 last season.
Speaking on West Ham’s official website, Moyes said Nevin had played an important role under him and thanked him for his service.
‘He is keen to test himself in a new environment’
“He is highly ambitious as a coach and is keen to test himself in a new environment and we wish him well in doing so,” Moyes said.
Nevin said: “I’ll always look back on my time and the opportunity I had to work at West Ham with great fondness. In the three and a half years, we enjoyed a period of great success in West Ham’s history, culminating in the Europa Conference League win last season, which gives the Club a fantastic opportunity and platform to go on to even greater levels in the future.”
After departing last month, Warburton candidly admitted his friendship with Moyes was in danger if he did not leave West Ham.
