West Ham are finally getting savvy in the transfer market with a clever new £30m swap bid to try and beat Liverpool to Dutch star Perr Schuurs.
Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth reiterated last night that West Ham want to sign reported Liverpool target Perr Schuurs.
The Hammers have emerged as rivals to Liverpool’s interest in Torino defender Schuurs after a successful debut season in Serie A following a move from Ajax.
Earlier this week Tuttosport claimed Jurgen Klopp wants Schuurs at Liverpool next season. But the Reds reportedly saw a £23m bid knocked back.

Since then West Ham have been heavily linked with reliable Italian transfer reporter Gianluca Di Marzio claiming the Hammers could make contact with the player in the coming days to see if he is willing to join the club.
Usually a transfer battle between Liverpool and West Ham for a player only ends one way.
But with German Tim Steidten on board as West Ham’s new technical director, the east Londoners seem to be wising up.
Steidten – who was also wanted by Liverpool – now has overarching responsibility for recruitment and transfers at the London Stadium.

‘Hammers deal could be enough to persuade Torino’ reports claim
Torino are desperate to sign Nikola Vlasic from West Ham on a permanent basis following his season-long loan last term.
And Steidten is looking to use that as an ace card to trump Liverpool.
According to La Stampa and TMW, West Ham may now have the advantage over Liverpool in the form of Vlasic. Because the Hammers will offer him plus £17m to sign Schuurs and reports suggest it may be enough to get a deal done.
With Vlasic valued at around £13m by West Ham, that makes it a £30m deal.
Indeed it is even reported Torino already have a potential replacement lined up.
West Ham’s ace card to trump Liverpool
“Torino have already been in contact with the Hammers to try and set up a new deal for the Croatian forward and his inclusion in the negotiations for Schuurs could prove decisive,” the reports – as also transcribed by Football Italia – state.
“West Ham would also be willing to pay €20m (£17m) as well, a deal which may be enough to convince the Granata to give up on the Dutchman.
“Should Schuurs leave, Torino would look to replace him with Rodrigo Becao, who only has a year left on his contract with Udinese.”
It is so refreshing to hear West Ham are showing some nous in the window. And it is no coincidence that it comes just days after the official arrival of Steidten.
David Sullivan, manager David Moyes and West Ham fans will hoping the German technical director can make an instant impact to beat Liverpool to the Dutch international defender.
