Kylian Mbappe has his reasons for preferring Arsenal above other Premier League suitors, while Chelsea have received a boost from the Gunners and Liverpool…
MBAPPE PREFERS ARSENAL AS PSG PUSH TO SELL
Kylian Mbappe and PSG are currently engaged in a stand-off. At some point very soon, one or both will have to budge…
Mbappe remains insistent that he won’t sign a new contract beyond next year and ESPN says the France star accepts he might have to move this summer. The 24-year-old’s preferred option is to join Real Madrid, and Sky Sports reports that PSG reckon a deal has already been arranged. But the Ligue 1 side won’t stand by and let their biggest asset move to Real for nothing. They intend to sell Mbappe to the highest bidder this summer, whoever that may be.
Real are struggling to afford a fee and Mbappe’s wages so Florentino Perez is determined to sit tight and take the player for nothing next year. Which presents an opportunity for other clubs to step in. The Independent says there is no sign of a Liverpool offer, but if Mbappe was to move to the Premier League, his preference would be to join Arsenal because ‘he likes the evolution of Mikel Arteta’s team and would also enjoy the challenge of delivering the title to the club again’.
ARSENAL, LIVERPOOL LEAVE LAVIA TO CHELSEA
Arsenal and Liverpool have been monitoring the situation of Romeo Lavia. But it seems both have backed down to leave Chelsea with a free run at the Southampton midfielder.
That’s the story according to The Mirror, which reports that neither the Gunners nor the Reds are prepared to match Saints’ £50million asking price for the 19-year-old.
Chelsea are still keen as they consider possible alternatives to Moises Caicedo. The Blues have been told by Brighton to pay Declan Rice money if they want the Ecuador midfielder, so Lavia at half the price remains an attractive prospect.

INTER EYE SPURS STOPPER TO REPLACE MAN UTD-BOUND ONANA
Manchester United are pushing ahead with a move for Andre Onana. They have had two bids rejected by Inter but the feeling is a compromise will be found, with Fabrizio Romano expecting a resolution by the end of next week so the keeper can travel on United’s pre-season tour.
In anticipation of losing Onana, Inter are looking for replacements. Foot Mercato says the Italians are targeting Hugo Lloris, who is expected to leave Tottenham this summer despite the one year that remains on his contract.
Romano has a different take, with Inter said to be planning to move for both Yann Sommer, who could be pushed out of Bayern Munich by Manuel Neuer’s return from injury, and Shakhtar Donetsk stopper Anatoly Trubin.
