Liverpool have turned their attention to one of Jurgen Klopp’s old favourites, while Manchester United are likely to move for a Serie A midfielder once they’ve raised a some cash…
LIVERPOOL TARGET TORINO DEFENDER
Last week, whispers were that Liverpool had narrowed their focus on two defensive signings: Sporting Lisbon’s Goncalo Ignacio and Wolfsburg’s Micky van de Ven. Now, according to Football Insider, the Reds are ready to shelve their interest in both to pursue Perr Schuurs.
Jurgen Klopp is breaking off from his midfield rebuild to solidify his defensive ranks and Torino centre-back Schuurs is seen as the ideal recruit. The 23-year-old is expected to be less expensive than other options. But he won’t come cheap…
Torino spent £7million to sign Schuurs from Ajax last summer but La Stampa says the Italian club will insist on £34million to sell the Holland international after just one season.
Klopp is said to have been interested in Schuurs for two years and he’ll have to move quick. Napoli have been linked as they seek a replacement for Bayern Munich-bound Kim Min-jae.
PREM TARGET TO MAKE SAUDI SWITCH
It was thought that, finally, this summer might be the time when Sergej Milinkovic-Savic moves to the Premier League. Nope.
The Lazio midfielder has been linked with a switch to England for at least the last five years, with Manchester United most heavily linked before most of the Big Six were credited with an interest in the Serbian.
Milinkovic-Savic is likely to leave Lazio but not for these shores. Or even Juventus. According to Fabrizio Romano, the 28-year-old is heading to Saudi, with Al-Hilal set to pay Lazio around £35million.

UNITED TO RETURN TO AMRABAT
United are still looking in Serie A for midfielders, though…
There has been talk in recent weeks of interest in Sofyan Amrabat, with the Red Devils among several big-hitters, including Bayern and Barcelona, reported to be keen on the Fiorentina star.
Bild reckons United have made preliminary enquiries over the 26-year-old, who could be available for anything between £20million and £35million. But with other priorities, like a goalkeeper and a striker, United may have to park their interest in Amrabat until they have raised more funds through player sales. Finding a patsy who will pay £50million for Harry Maguire would certainly help.
