Three unnamed clubs have tabled offers for Tottenham star Hugo Lloris
According to The Telegraph, Three unnamed clubs have emerged as contenders in the race to sign Tottenham Hotspur’s star goalkeeper, Hugo Lloris.
Lloris, who has been an integral part of the Tottenham squad for the past eleven years, made his intentions clear back in May, expressing his desire for a new challenge away from the familiar surroundings of N17.
As the captain and a loyal servant of the Lilywhites, it is with a heavy heart that he prepares to bid farewell to the club and its passionate fan base. In light of Lloris’ impending exit, Tottenham wasted no time securing the services of Guglielmo Vicario from Empoli.
The highly-rated Italian shot-stopper is widely expected to inherit the coveted number-one shirt from the departing Frenchman. When asked about Lloris’ potential departure during his first press conference as Spurs boss, Ange Postecoglou, the Australian tactician, remained tight-lipped.
The report claims that Hugo Lloris might be excluded from the squad’s trip to Perth later this week, hinting that his departure from the club is imminent. This development is not surprising, given the long and fruitful tenure he has enjoyed at Tottenham.
While the identity of the three clubs courting Lloris remains shrouded in secrecy, it is clear that the offers presented to the goalkeeper have failed to entice him thus far. The fact that he has not yet finalized a move suggests that none of the propositions align with his ambitions for the next phase of his career.
However, there is a strong possibility that Lloris harbours a desire to return to his homeland, particularly to reunite with his former club, Nice, in Ligue 1. However, the presence of Kasper Schmeichel might not make this feasible.
Tottenham have for long benefitted from many moments of brilliance Lloris has provided throughout his tenure. From his acrobatic saves to his exceptional leadership, he has left an indelible mark on the club’s history.
