According to reports, Tottenham Hotspur are ‘ready to overtake’ European giants PSG in the race to sign Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic.
Spurs may be forced into the transfer market for a new striker this summer.
This comes amid the uncertainty surrounding Harry Kane, who is out of contract in 2024. He is being heavily linked with a potential move to a European giant, with Bayern Munich and PSG in the market for him.
Tottenham are reportedly planning to offer Kane a new £400,000 a week contract and a post-playing career to tempt him into extending his stay at the Premier League club, but recent reports have indicated that he is open to a move elsewhere so he can improve his chances of winning trophies.
Foot Mercato are now reporting that Bayern Munich intend to ‘make Tottenham crack with a final offer that is difficult to refuse’.
Spurs chief Daniel Levy has subsequently picked out Vlahovic as his ‘priority’ to replace Kane.
They were previously linked with the Serbia international prior to his move to Juventus. He’s netted 23 goals in his 63 appearances for the Italian giants.
Juventus may have to sell some of their prized assets this summer and Vlahovic is said to be valued at around €70m.
The report points out that a ‘real game of musical chairs’ involving several top strikers is set to get underway and Spurs are ready to ‘overtake’ PSG in the battle to sign Vlahovic, who is also being targeted by Chelsea.

Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio meanwhile has confirmed that Vlahovic is “on the market” this summer and Bayern Munich will move for him “if they don’t get Kane”.
“Dusan Vlahovic is practically on the market in the sense that Juventus will listen to any offer, both Dusan Vlahovic and Chiesa,” Di Marzio said.
“But it also depends on the players. Aston Villa have bid €60m for Chiesa but he hasn’t even listened to the offer as he doesn’t want to join Aston Villa. He only wants to play at top clubs.
“With Vlahovic, it depends on both him and his agents, who are tough guys. They really want to be in control of the business.
“Vlahovic’s agents are not people who say you have to go here and there. They want to control the player’s future and they want them to go where they see fit.
“Getting a contract with Vlahovic is not easy, but it is not certain that he will play for Juventus next season because Bayern Munich will try to get him if they don’t get Harry Kane.”
