Everton are hoping to sign two forwards before the end of the summer transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.
Sean Dyche would like more signings but he is fully aware of the restrictions the club face from Financial Fair Play.
For the Toffee’s to bolster their squad, they would need to offload players, before strengthening the team.
Wilfried Gnonto is one forward they are interested in, but they would need to finance he deal by selling players.
Football Insider exclusively revealed on Wednesday (5 July) that Everton and Aston Villa alongside other Premier League clubs are interested in signing Leeds United star Gnonto.
The 19-year-old’s contract at Elland Road runs until 2027 after he joined from FC Zurich last year for a reported fee of just under £4million.
For Everton to get a deal over the line they would need to generate money, and one source of this could be from Alex Iwobi.
With the Nigerian yet to sign a new contract, Football Insider exclusively revealed on Tuesday (13 July) that Everton will have to receive a very good offer if they are to consider selling Alex Iwobi this summer.
Iwobi was an important part of the Everton side last campaign and had started all 38 of their top flight games, scoring twice and providing eight assists in those outings as the Toffees confirmed their league status.
On 17 March, Football Insider revealed that the midfielder had been offered a new deal by the Toffees amid interest from Premier League and European clubs.
With Iwobi potentially departing, this could help Everton in their quest to sign two forwards before the end of the window.
