Juventus have just made a really bold call with Denis Zakaria as West Ham line up first summer signing
The 26-year-old midfielder has been removed from Juve training as a move to the London Stadium seemingly draws nearer.
As I’ve mentioned numerous times before, I believe that Zakaria will be a really good addition for the Hammers, but he should in no way be viewed as a direct replacement for Declan Rice.
He is a powerful, dynamic central midfielder and he has the energy needed to play the box-to-box role.
If Moyes brings in an elite out and out defensive midfielder alongside Denis Zakaria, then there is no reason why West Ham can’t improve as a team following Rice’s exit.
£17 million for the Swiss midfielder seems like very decent value indeed to me, certainly in the current market.
However, it still remains to be seen whether we’ll win the race for his signature this summer.
