Chelsea star Armando Broja has made his mind up on a West Ham move as reports claim a deal is close over the striker.
Fans will remember speculation over a West Ham move for young Chelsea striker Armando Broja was one of the sagas of last summer’s window.
But West Ham signed Gianluca Scamacca instead as the Slough-born Albanian remained with Chelsea only to suffer an ACL injury which kept him out for most of the season.
Since then the Blues have signed strikers Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson and are being linked with a host of others.
We reported on Hammers News earlier this week about claims David Moyes wants to completely overhaul his attack this summer and rebuild it around Chelsea striker Broja.
Chelsea star Armando Broja has made his mind up on West Ham move as reports claim deal close
Since then Gazzetta Dello Sport has reported that the powerful young Chelsea forward is closing in on joining West Ham in a deal that would see Scamacca head to Roma in the summer transfer window.
Speculation intensified when Broja was left out of the Chelsea squad which headed to the US on tour this week. And the 21-year-old posted a string of cryptic social media posts.
Now Chelsea star Broja has made his mind up on a West Ham move as reports claim a deal is close.
And it’s not good news for West Ham.
Because Broja wants to stay at Chelsea and fight for his place under Mauricio Pochettino.
That’s according to an “exclusive” from The Express which says West Ham’s hopes are doomed.
Hammers must move on from waste of time Broja
“Armando Broja has been linked with West Ham since missing out on Chelsea’s pre-season tour…” the report states.
“Express Sport understands that the youngster is intent on staying at Chelsea and earning his place in Pochettino’s plans for the upcoming campaign.
“Links between Broja and West Ham have been entirely dismissed at this stage, while the player’s omission from the pre-season squad is solely down to the fact that he is yet to fully recover from the devastating knee injury he suffered in December.”
It comes as West Ham are also linked with Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher.
West Ham clearly need to move on from Broja after wasting much of last summer flirting with the striker.
He has five years left on a six-year deal he signed just last summer so the Hammers need to accept this move is not going to happen unless the player wants it. Which – according to this report at least – he does not.
