Hammer goes out on loan
Hammers Academy goalkeeper Krisztián Hegyi has joined EFL League One side Stevenage on loan for the 2023/24 season.
Hegyi, who joined the Hammers in 2019 and is very highly thought of by the club but with Fab and Alphone Areola ahead of him in the pecking order this is a good move for the youngster.
He wore the captain’s armband for the Development team last year but is now set to spend the new season at the Lamex Stadium.
Stevenage, under the management of Steve Evans, achieved promotion from EFL League Two last season and will be seeking to consolidate their position in the EFL third tier.
Twenty-year-old Hegyi has made 49 appearances in Premier League 2 for the Irons and is a regular for Hungary U21s, making 14 showings for his national team’s development side.
In joining Stevenage, Hegyi follows fellow Academy of Football talent Joseph Anang in spending time on loan in Hertfordshire.
Everyone at West Ham United wishes Krisztián every success in his loan spell with Stevenage.
