From Perth to Dagenham
So the squad is finally home
Swapping the melange of sweet eucalyptus, and cute furry creatures of Perth for the heady aroma of petrol fumes and the not very cute creatures of downtown Dagenham.
For it is Dagenham and Redbridge FC, the next port of call for the Irons, as they continue to get up to speed for the forthcoming season.
David Moyes’ Irons will take on a Daggers side who finished in tenth place last season in the Vanarama league.
West Ham are unbeaten in pre-season so far, having secured a 3-2 win at Optus Stadium in Perth on Tuesday against London rivals Tottenham Hotspur. Strikers Danny Ings, Divin Mubama and Gianluca Scamacca were all on the score sheet, while the latter duo also scored during the 6-2 win over Perth Glory on Saturday.
The pre-season schedule began with a 4-1 victory at another National League side, Boreham Wood, with further trips to Rennes in France and Leverkusen in Germany to come..
The returnees from International duty , Alphonse Areola, Thilo Kehrer, Nayef Aguerd, Czech pair Vladimír Coufal and Tomáš Souček and Saïd Benrahma were all back training this week and will no doubt be looking forward to a run out on Saturday.
Following some impressive performances from our Academy boys in Perth, you would expect to see a few of them take the field on Saturday to hopefully continue to impress.
Tickets are available from the club site starting at £15 for the terraces.
