No Gianluca Scamacca for West Ham United friendly clash with Dagenham, but there’s no problem.
That’s what I think anyway. Gianluca Scamacca was completely left out of the West Ham squad for today’s friendly match against Dagenham and Redbridge.

So David Moyes omitting him from the Hammers squad entirely this afternoon was bound to raise some eyebrows.
However, there’s no need for the Hammers fans to fear as far as I’m concerned…

Now as far as I’m concerned, Moyes decided to play a second string team with the inclusion of plenty of youngsters today.
And that’s why Scamacca missed out today I reckon.
He wasn’t the only first-team player to be left out of the squad either – Jarrod Bowen, Lucas Paqueta, Kurt Zouma, Emerson Palmieri, Danny Ings and Michail Antonio all missed out too.
Now I’m not saying that Scamacca definitely won’t leave this summer. Of course he might still end up returning to Italy.
However, I have a strong feeling that Moyes could be ready to change things up in order to get the best out of the 24-year-old.
Whether that means playing Scamacca up front alongside another striker or utilising his two wingers in closer to the Italian remains to be seen.
There are plenty of people who envisage the former Sassuolo striker leaving the London Stadium this summer. The noise coming out of his camp is that he would not be averse to returning to his homeland.
However, Gianluca Scamacca’s omission from the West Ham squad against Dagenham today will have no bearing on that in my opinion.
