West Ham United have apparently lodged a second bid for Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha.
According to Sean Whetstone – a reporter with close contacts with David Sullivan – West Ham have made a £50 million offer for Joao Palhinha – one that Fulham have rejected.

And Hammers boss David Moyes allegedly won’t be going back in with a penny more for the 28-year-old in the summer transfer window, according to Whetstone.
The East London outfit have been chasing Palhinha all summer long as a replacement for Declan Rice, but Fulham are said to be demanding upwards of £60 million for the Portugal international.
And now Moyes will seemingly have to start looking elsewhere for midfield reinforcements…
Joao Palhinha to West Ham now off in big twist
It seems as thought the former Sporting midfielder will not be heading to the London Stadium.
Well that’s what Sean Whetstone claims anyway, and it’s because of Fulham’s extortionate demands for Palhinha.
That’s fine – on to the next one Mr Moyes. As good as Palhinha is, we simply can’t be spending upwards of £60 million on him.
He’s 28 for a start and probably only has two or three years left playing in his absolute prime.
There are players out there who are better than the Fulham man and they wouldn’t cost as much either! Just look at the likes of Ibrahim Sangare, Khephren Thuram and Sofyan Amrabat!
Those three names are on another level entirely to Joao Palhinha and are far cheaper and younger than him as well, so West Ham missing out on the Fulham man could end up being a blessing in disguise for us.
Let’s just hope that Moyes gets a top-class Declan Rice replacement through the door as soon as possible.
