Chelsea have joined the race to sign Juventus defender Gleison Bremer as Mauricio Pochettino looks to add to his defensive options.
With Wesley Fofana set to be sidelined for the foreseeable future, Chelsea are now in the market for another defensive option.
As the likes of Cesar Azpilicueta and Kalidou Koulibaly have left the club this summer, it makes sense they are looking to add to this department.
Tottenham have previously held an interest in Bremer, although the latest reports have claimed Chelsea could be the hot favourites to strike a deal with Juventus.
According to Calciomercato, Chelsea have turned their attention to the Brazilian defender and they could soon make an offer.
The 26-year-old featured in 30 league matches last season and was a regular in Massimiliano Allegri’s starting lineup.
Bremer joined Juventus last summer in a deal worth around £35million from Torino. He is under contract with the Italian side until 2027 and so they are in a strong position to dictate his transfer value.
Along with targeting Bremer, Chelsea have also been linked with his Juventus teammate Dusan Vlahovic throughout the transfer window.
Juventus are reportedly prepared to sell the striker, but only at the right price. The 23-year-old scored 14 goals last season and is in high demand right now.
“Dusan Vlahovic is practically on the market in the sense that Juventus will listen to any offer,” Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reported earlier this month.
“Vlahovic’s agents are not people who say you have to go here and there. They want to control the player’s future and they want them to go where they see fit.
“Getting a contract with Vlahovic is not easy, but it is not certain that he will play for Juventus next season because Bayern Munich will try to get him if they don’t get Harry Kane.
“It’s an open game for Vlahovic and he’s not an out-of-market player.”
Along with the Juventus duo, Chelsea are also considering a move for Ajax star Mohammed Kudus. The 22-year-old is under contract at Ajax until 2025 and he recently rejected a fresh contract offer from the club as he pushes for a move this summer.
