One player didn’t do himself any favours whatsoever during the Dagenham vs West Ham friendly clash yesterday.
Hammers boss David Moyes made a whole host of changes for the Dagenham vs West Ham game.

Alphonse Areola was one player who came into the side in place of West Ham stalwart Lukas Fabianski.
Alphonse Areola joined West Ham on loan from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2021, and then made his move to the London Stadium a permanent one in 2022 for around £8 million (The Athletic).
However, he has only made three Premier League starts for the Hammers, and a recent report claimed that he could be sold this summer.
Yesterday’s performance certainly didn’t do him any favours…
Watch: £8 million man has an absolute howler for West Ham vs Dagenham
Areola really didn’t cover himself in glory yesterday.
The Frenchman made an absolute howler that allowed the hosts back into the game, during our friendly clash with Daggers yesterday:
That really is poor isn’t it.
Some will say that he’s rusty and not up to full speed but there are no excuses for that from the Frenchman in my opinion.
Many expected Alphonse Areola to be the number one West Ham goalkeeper this season and beyond.
Judging by the shocker that he had for West Ham vs Dagenham yesterday though, I fully expect Lukasz Fabianski to start between the sticks for us in three week’s time for our Premier League opener.
