In a recent interview in Washington, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was quizzed about his picture-perfect hair.
Known for his immaculate hairstyle that has seen virtually no change since his time at Everton, the Spaniard was asked to spill the beans on his grooming secrets.
The interviewer had to ask, “So, your hair. How have you been able to keep it pristine for this long? I’m talking when you were at Everton to now. There’s no change. What’s the secret? You’ve got to be doing something!”
However, Arteta laughed off the idea of having a secret, crediting his genetics and brushing off the impacts of his high-stress job on his hair.
He replied, “No, believe me, not. I don’t have a lot of time to look after my hair. It’s just genes, but I have some white hairs coming out in this profession that, obviously, we have to go through a lot.
“But yeah, no, it’s incredible. My wife is like, ‘How is his hair perfect like that?’ Because I’m starting to get some grays in there.
“It’s a Jose Mourinho effect, you know, completely silver. It’s the stress, right?”
Responding to Arteta’s comment about stress, the interviewer agreed, “Yeah, for sure, exactly. A lot of stress.”
