David Moyes has spoken on his relationship with Tim Steidten after the claim that the German finds the West Ham boss ‘very hard work’.
When West Ham brought in Tim Steidten as technical director with overarching responsibility for recruitment, Hammers News suggested there was always going to be a potential issue with David Moyes.
And so it has proved thus far with West Ham yet to sign a single player in the summer transfer window.
What has become abundantly clear since the arrival of highly-rated and coveted German at West Ham, is that Steidten has a very different recruitment philosophy to manager Moyes.
On one hand West Ham have been linked with older and/or proven Premier League players such as Harvey Barnes, Harry Maguire, Joao Palhinha, Scott McTominay and James Ward-Prowse.

Meanwhile there are links to players Steidten has reportedly recommended including Carlos Borges, Samuel Iling-Junior, Denis Zakaria, Jonathan Tah, Youssouf Fofana, Edson Alvarez and Habib Diallo.
With such a stark contrast in the profile of player being targeted by the pair, West Ham are at something of a transfer stand-off.
That much has been exclusively confirmed to Hammers News by a top club source amid claims Steidten could walk less than a month into the job.

“He finds the manager very hard work,” was our top source’s verdict on rumours a frustrated Steidten could leave the Hammers.
Now Moyes has spoken on his relationship with Steidten after the claim that the German finds the West Ham boss ‘very hard work’.
True to form Moyes did not open up too much. But he made it clear it’s a work in progress while highlighting his close bond with Mark Noble.
“It’s new (the structure); new people to the club,” Moyes told Sky Sports.
“I’ve known Mark for a long time and have a great relationship with him.
“I’m still getting to know Tim.
“Because of the shortness of the summer and being in Australia, the amount of time we have had together has been limited, but I’m sure we’ll get down to work and do what we have to do.”
