Dharmesh Sheth’s new seven-player West Ham United transfer update as boss David Moyes makes ‘active’ claim.
If last year’s summer transfer window was for West Ham, this year’s painfully slow effort is more akin to a famine.
Hammers fans are growing increasingly frustrated and concerned by the lack of new arrivals.
Especially with the season now just over two weeks away.
Despite the improvement towards the end of the season and – of course – lifting the club’s first major trophy for 43 years, West Ham fans have not forgotten just how badly they struggled for much of that campaign.
And that was WITH the since departed Declan Rice in the side.
West Ham’s window activity – or perhaps more accurately described as attempted activity right now – has ramped up markedly this week.

David Moyes delivered an uninspiring transfer update earlier today but did state West Ham are ‘active’ in the market.
Now Sky Sports’ top transfer reporter has provided the latest on deals the Hammers are trying to work on.
Dharmesh Sheth’s new seven-player West Ham transfer update as Moyes makes ‘active’ claim.
Speaking on Sky Sports News on Thursday evening, Sheth revealed the moves West Ham exploring.
And he say talks are continuing behind the scenes about which midfielders to really push for from a lengthy list.
“We think that among the primary targets are Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher, the Southampton captain James Ward-Prowse and Manchester United’s Scott McTominay,” Sheth said.
“We think West Ham are looking to potentially recruit at least two new midfielders…
“As far as Gallagher’s concerned they’ve yet to submit an improved bid after having a £40m offer rejected.
“The interest in Ward-Prowse remains while initial talks with Manchester United have highlighted quite a big gap in valuation about Scott McTominay.
“Positive talks, though, are still continuing with Juventus about a possible deal for Denis Zakaria. Dialogue remains open with Ajax over the Mexico international Edson Alvarez AND they remain keen on Monaco’s Youssouf Fofana.
“Yes, they are spreading the net far and wide. They’re also keeping an eye on Joao Palhinha’s situation because they did make a bid for him, £45m, well short of what Fulham value him at. But it’s been complicated somewhat because he suffered what seems quite a serious shoulder injury… that might scupper any move in this transfer window.”
Some of Sheth’s information is a little dated based on what we and other West Ham sites have been reporting.
The Gallagher move was ruled out this morning while Man United’s £45m valuation of McTominay looks almost certain to kill any hope of that deal too.
West Ham have made a big demand of Southampton before continuing talks over Ward-Prowse.
And Zakaria is not believed to be an active Hammers target any longer either.
