Mauricio Pochettino is concerned that Chelsea are making the same mistakes in the transfer market as last season, according to reports.
The Blues have brought in Christopher Nkunku, Nicolas Jackson, Angelo and Diego Moreira this summer as new owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali continue to add to Pochettino’s squad.
13 players have left the club permanently this summer as Pochettino looked to reduce the size of the squad with the Argentinian happy to work with a core squad of 23 players.
However, the Daily Mail claim that Pochettino is ‘worried’ at their current transfer business with Chelsea bringing in more players despite the Blues boss naming 29 players for their pre-season tour.
Pochettino fears the the board are making the same mistake they made under Graham Potter with Chelsea spending around £600m over two transfer windows to leave the squad bloated.
Some players were even left out of first-team training last season as Potter couldn’t incorporate all the players at his disposal.

One player they are keen on bringing to Stamford Bridge is Dusan Vlahovic with claims from Italy on Monday insisting there had been a ‘sensational breakthrough’ in talks between Chelsea and Juventus.
And now Italian website Calciomercato insist that ‘negotiation is about to enter its hottest hours’ as Juventus look for Romelu Lukaku plus €45m for the Serbian.
€15m of the €45m will be in add-ons and Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claims the deal has ‘come to life’ with Juventus currently Lukaku’s only option.
And it is understood that Chelsea have become more flexible and have ‘opened up the possibility’ of an exchange deal for Vlahovic.
Di Marzio adds on his own website:
‘Today there have been contacts between the clubs but there is still a difference on the economic settlement.
‘The compromise could be a balance of around 30-35 million euros in favor of Juventus who, however, asked for more considering the age of the two players and also their salary. It will go on in the coming days to continue on a path that has become almost obligatory for both clubs who have decided to continue this transfer market operation.’
Enzo Fernandez is Chelsea’s biggest transfer under Boehly and Eghbali and Pochettino says his compatriot is a “pleasure” to work with.
On Fernandez, Pochettino said: “Always it is a pleasure with Enzo. He is very humble, he is a fighter also and he’s a fantastic player, world champion with Argentina and I am so proud of him.
“I am Argentine also and I shared happiness when they won the World Cup. It is a pleasure when you have a player like him in the squad.”
