Sean Whetstone has claimed that Hammers boss David Moyes didn’t even want Borges at the London Stadium in the first place.
The West Ham board confidant tweeted about the situation last night:
So did Ajax hijack our move to sign the teenager from Man City?
Or did Moyes not actually want him in the first place? Or maybe Moyes didn’t want him but he was a Tim Steidten signing?
There is so much drama going on at the London Stadium right now – it will make a great book one day.
One thing that cannot be disputed is the fact that we are desperately lacking any kind of pace up front at the moment.
Borges certainly possesses that in abundance, and would have been a great signing for us in my opinion. However, it seems as though he’s now Ajax bound.
And that’s fine, as long as Moyes manages to bring in an attacker with real speed as alternative to the teenager.
