A transfer stand-off between West Ham’s new technical director Tim Steidten and manager David Moyes has been blamed for the lack of new arrivals this summer transfer window.
It was exclusively confirmed to Hammers News by a top club source that Steidten is finding Moyes ‘very hard work’ after claims the German could walk less than a month into the job.
Moyes has also admitted he is still getting to know Steidten and has hardly had time to sit down and get to know him let alone work on transfers.

A source close to the West Ham board has described the club’s transfer by committee approach as ‘a shambles and complete mess’.
West Ham’s entire transfer structure effectively rests in Moyes’ hands as he essentially has the power of veto on all deals.

And even if the Hammers forced Steidten signings on the Scot, he could simply refuse to play them.
But there may yet be some light at the end of this dark transfer window tunnel for West Ham.
Because Moyes is willing to work with Steidten on West Ham signings but has made one thing clear to the new man claims a report.
Scottish sources at The Daily Record who have connections to Moyes have reported the Hammers boss is open to working in tandem with the ex Bayer Leverkusen man.
But there is a caveat.
The paper’s sources claim Moyes is ‘sympathetic’ to West Ham’s introduction of a new transfer strategy at the club for the medium to long term.

However, he has made it clear to the German that in the short-term his preference for Premier League-proven players is the way to go for this window.
“Although Moyes is said to be sympathetic to the introduction of a similar strategy at West Ham, and willing to work with Steidten to implement it in the medium term, he has underlined the importance of bringing in Premier League-proven performers now,” the report states.
“West Ham spent much of last season threatened by relegation to the Championship and as matters stand will enter the new season with a significantly weakened squad.”
West Ham must think about a future beyond Moyes, who is in the last year of his contract. Although the manager, with what he has done for the club, has earned the right to have a say too.
Let’s hope some common ground is found soon.
Otherwise West Ham risk going into the new season seriously short-staffed in key areas.
