Southampton are braced for Premier League offers for striker Che Adams in the final month of the window, sources have told Football Insider.
Football Insider revealed on Monday (31 July) that Everton, Bournemouth and Wolves are among the sides ready to move for the 27-year-old following the south coast club’s relegation.
Adams has just one year remaining on his contract at St Mary’s Stadium.
And it is believed Premier League suitors will be hoping to take advantage of that fact to land him for a bargain fee.
A well-placed source has told Football Insider that Southampton are willing to part with the former Birmingham and Sheffield United man if they receive a suitable fee for his services.
Adams notched 10 goals and three assists in 35 games across all competitions last season as Southampton suffered relegation to the Championship.
He has returned for pre-season ahead of the Saints’ first game of the season against Sheffield Wednesday on Friday (4 August).
But the Scotland international striker could return to the Premier League ahead of next year’s European Championships – with the Tartan Army well-placed to qualify for the tournament in Germany.
The 23-cap star has managed 25 goals and 14 assists in 124 Premier League outings since making his top-flight debut in 2019.
Everton, Bournemouth and Wolves are keen to bolster their forward options after registering bottom-half finishes in the 2022-23 campaign.
According to FBRef, Adams earns a wage of £30,000-a-week at St Mary’s Stadium after joining the club for a reported fee of £15million in 2019.
