The Athletic outlines bizarre approach West Ham have taken to complete seven new signings before deadline day
According to The Athletic, West Ham have advertised for seven new players on TransferRoom – ‘an online marketplace where 650 clubs from across the globe can buy, sell and advertise players’.
The Hammers state that their budget per signing is £20 million, so we clearly have a £140 million budget this summer.
West Ham are after a left-back, centre-back, defensive midfielder x2, attacking midfielder, a winger and a striker. We are also said to be exploring the loan market.

Could you get any more amateurish than advertising for new signings online? I have never heard anything like it in my life from a so-called elite level club.
West Ham having left it this late to make any new signings is farcical in my opinion. And the fact that we are now advertising on an online transfer marketplace sums up what a mess we’re in.
