Barcelona ‘line up sensational Neymar return on loan with option to buy for £52m’ after PSG told the Brazilian star he doesn’t feature in their plans
Barcelona are reportedly looking into a sensational return for Neymar – with Paris Saint-Germain placing a £52million price tag on the Brazilian star.
The 31-year-old forward has been told he can leave the French champions six years on from his world record £200m transfer from the Spanish giants.
And, according to The Independent, a return to his old club Barcelona in a loan with an option to buy deal is a possibility.
Given Barcelona’s well-documented financial difficulties, they would initially take Neymar on loan with the fee for a permanent transfer set at around £51.8m, it is claimed.
The player is reportedly keen on a Nou Camp return and Barcelona’s hierarchy believe the sums add up because of Neymar’s huge commercial potential.

Neymar has been told he doesn’t feature in the plans of the new PSG coach Luis Enrique
Neymar scored 105 goals in 186 appearances during the four seasons of his initial spell at Barcelona and has netted 118 times in 173 matches for PSG since his 2017 move.
Neymar won the Champions League with Barcelona in 2015, a feat he has been unable to repeat at the Parc des Princes.
His attributes no longer suit the style of football new PSG coach Luis Enrique and football advisor Luis Campos wish to implement, based around quick play and a younger profile of players.
To make the deal work, Barcelona would have to sell a number of players to keep on the right side of LaLiga rules.
Reports have also linked Neymar with a move to Chelsea, although the Brazilian moving to Stamford Bridge is considered unlikely.
The sight of him sitting in the stands during PSG has become all too apparent while at PSG
The Brazilian forward’s time at PSG has been plagued by injuries, and a failure to help deliver the club a Champions League trophy is a big factor as to why the move hasn’t worked out
The Independent say that Neymar feels it is too soon to move to the Saudi Pro League, despite offers being made, and he wants to be in top condition to play for Brazil at the 2026 World Cup in North America.
Neymar also wishes to continue competing in the Champions League but is likely to see game time limited at PSG under Enrique.
The imminent completion of Marco Verratti’s move from PSG to Al-Hilal for £43m could help Barcelona’s cause as they try and thrash out a loan deal for Neymar first.
