Billy Sharp ‘flies to Los Angeles to seal shock MLS move’… as LA Galaxy opt to sign Sheffield United legend amid links with PSG superstar Neymar
Former Sheffield United striker Billy Sharp is reportedly closing in on a move to MLS’ LA Galaxy – after the club was linked with Neymar earlier this week.
The 37-year-old Blades legend left Bramall Lane in June when his contract at the club expired.
And according to Football Insider, Sharp is flying out to LA to pen a one-year contract with the Galaxy.
The contract will reportedly include an option for another year as well.
The reported move comes after L’Equipe reported that either Los Angeles FC or the Galaxy had made an approach to sign Neymar, who is said to be seeking a move away from PSG.

Crucially, though, the Galaxy do not currently have an open designated player spot to occupy Neymar on their roster, with Javier Hernandez, Douglas Costa and Riqui Puig filling those slots.
LAFC has one open DP spot.
Nonetheless, the struggling Galaxy will hope Sharp can fire them to the playoffs in their last 12 games of the season.
The club fired president Chris Klein in May and sit just three points above last place in the Western Conference.
Sharp arrives with strong pedigree from England, having scored 256 goals in his career – including 124 with the Blades.
The striker scored just twice last season as the club was promoted back to the Premier League.
