BREAKING NEWS: Chelsea target Michael Olise signs shock new four-year Crystal Palace deal – after Blues activated £35m release clause – with Steve Parish revelling in plot twist after tapping-up storm
Michael Olise has rejected Chelsea and committed to another four years with Crystal Palace, Eagles chairman Steve Parish has revealed.
The winger was expected to move to Stamford Bridge after the Blues activated his £35million release clause but appears to have U-turned.
In an Instagram post, Parish wrote: ‘I’m absolutely delighted to announce @m.olise has decided to commit his future to Crystal Palace football club and this afternoon signed a new four year deal with the club.’
The news came after Mail Sport revealed Olise’s proposed move to Chelsea was unfolding amid ‘tapping-up’ concerns.
Palace officials were aggravated by Chelsea’s interest in the France Under-21 international and were upset the Blues had crossed the line with their conduct in attempts to sign the player.

Olise’s proposed move to Chelsea was unfolding amid a backdrop of ‘tapping-up’ concerns
Chelsea, who have spent enormous sums on new players with almost £1billion spent in 14 months of Todd Boehly’s ownership, tabled a formal bid they believed activated Olise’s release clause.
There had been concerns at Selhurst Park that Chelsea’s potential swoop for Olise had contravened transfer rules and etiquette.
Sources indicated the south London club had considered formally reporting their Premier League rivals for making an illegal approach.
But Olise has now committed to the Eagles beyond the five-year contract he signed with Palace when he joined from Reading in July 2021 for £8.37m.
