Liverpool may swoop for a former Chelsea forward if Mo Salah moves to Saudi, while Scott McTominay and Man Utd could receive offers they can’t refuse from Bayern Munich…
REDS EYE FELIX AS SALAH SUCCESSOR
Liverpool can’t afford to spend too long basking in the glory of Sunday’s comeback at Newcastle. They have until Friday night to sign a midfielder, probably a centre-back and quite possibly a replacement for Mo Salah.
The Egypt star has been heavily linked with a move to Saudi Arabia and the speculation doesn’t seem to be quietening, with reports over the weekend that the trip to St James’ Park could be his last outing in a Reds shirt.
Jurgen Klopp has seemed pretty calm about the whole thing but Liverpool will have to move fast if they receive an offer they can’t refuse. According to A Bola, the Reds have identified Joao Felix as a possible replacement should they lose Salah before the transfer deadline this week.
Felix is available while remaining an outcast at Atletico Madrid following his return from a loan spell at Chelsea. His status with the Rojiblancos, though, doesn’t mean he will be cheap. Barcelona have been priced out of a move for the Portugal forward who could cost Liverpool £77million.

BAYERN KEEN TO SWAP MIDFIELDERS WITH MAN UTD
Like Liverpool, Manchester United have plenty of work to do this week. The Red Devils could be in the market for a back-up goalkeeper and a left-back in addition to the midfielder they simply most sign.
United have been trying to cobble together the cash to reinforce their engine room but Bayern Munich could offer a low-cost solution to their problem.
Bild says Bayern are keen to take Scott McTominay on loan from the Red Devils, while offering Ryan Gravenberch in exchange. Gravenberch has struggled to break into the Bayern side since moving from Ajax last summer for £16million. Liverpool have been interested but the Bavarians are said to remain ‘convinced’ of the Netherlands international’s qualities. Just not enough to play him.
DANE AMONG FOUR ON ARSENAL SHORTLIST
Arsenal looked all set after spending big early in the window but an injury to one of their additions means Mikel Arteta may have to re-enter the market this week.
With Jurrien Timber sidelined long-term, the Gunners are said to have drawn up a shortlist of defenders to bolster their backline.
Rudy Galetti says Victor Nelsson is at the top of that list. Nelsson is a Denmark international currently plying his trade at Galatasaray. But the 24-year-old has a release clause of £21.5million, making him affordable to Arsenal.
Reports elsewhere suggest Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi, Torino’s Perr Schuurs and Barcelona’s Eric Garcia are also on the Gunners’ radar.
