Mason Mount is closing in on a return to action for Manchester United after stepping up his recovery from injury.
The 24-year-old has not featured for the Red Devils since picking up an injury in a 2-0 defeat at Tottenham on August 19, but was pictured in training last week and his condition is steadily improving.
He could now make his comeback in tomorrow night’s Carabao Cup clash with Crystal Palace at Old Trafford.
Mount was seen smiling as he worked alongside his team-mates on Monday morning, and will be desperate to get back on the pitch after only playing two games for United since his £60m summer move from Chelsea.
Harry Maguire is also pushing to play after returning to training following a recent injury.

The England international has missed United’s last two matches, but is back with the first-team squad.
Fellow centre back Raphael Varane was also involved in training as United’s injury problems begin to ease.
Erik ten Hag has been left with a depleted squad for recent matches after injuries to Luke Shaw, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Tyrell Malacia among others.
He only had five defenders in his squad for United’s 4-3 defeat against Bayern Munich last week, and had to call upon Jonny Evans in the 1-0 win over Burnley on Saturday after Lisandro Martinez became the latest player to be sidelined.
Maguire and Varane returning provides Ten Hag with two more experienced options at the heart of his defence as United look to get back on track after a shaky start to the season.

The team have lost three of their opening six league games this term to fall nine points behind early pace-setters Manchester City in the table.
They returned to winning ways at Turf Moor on Saturday, but failed to fully convince against Vincent Kompany’s newly-promoted side.
Ten Hag’s men will hope to deliver an improved display when they face Palace tomorrow as they begin their defence of the Carabao Cup.
It will be the first of two meetings with the Eagles in the space of four days, with Roy Hodgson’s team returning to Old Trafford in the league on Saturday.
