The Premier League have confirmed their nominees for the September Manager of the Month award, and Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta joins four other managers in the running for the award.
Aston Villa’s Unai Emery, Newcastle United’s Eddie Howe, Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp, and Tottenham Hotspur’s Ange Postecoglou are all up for the monthly award alongside Arteta, who was also nominated for the award in August.
Arteta’s Arsenal arguably improved on their August form in September, winning three of their four games and drawing the fourth against Postecoglou’s Spurs.
During that period, the Gunners won in dramatic fashion against Manchester United, ended a long run without a win at Goodison Park, and thrashed Bournemouth on a comfortable day on the south coast.
The only blip was that draw at home to Tottenham Hotspur, but even that only came as a result of an individual error.
You can vote for your favourite from the managers nominated here, and fans have until 12:00 BST on Monday, October 9th to submit their votes. The winner will be revealed next week.
Arteta has won six Manager of the Month awards already with Arsenal, putting him ahead of the likes of Jose Mourinho, Carlo Ancelotti, Mauricio Pochettino, and Roy Hodgson.
The Arsenal boss has also received three of the last five awards in 2022/23, winning in November/December, January, and March.
