Liverpool are reportedly targeting a summer move for Leeds United’s emerging talent, Archie Gray, as per the Daily Mail.
The teenager has impressed with his performances this season, but the Reds may have to spend a decent sum to secure his signing.
However, the midfield sensation could cost the six-time European champions at least £40 million to finalize a potential deal.
Gray has been a standout player in the Championship this season, making appearances in nearly all of Leed’s matches since his professional debut on the opening day of the campaign.
The 17-year-old, who can play both in midfield and as a right-back, has made a huge impact in 14 Championship appearances this season.
The English ace showcases defensive capabilities with an average of 2.2 tackles and 5.1 ball recoveries per game.

Having emerged from the Leeds academy two years ago, the youngster’s potential move to Anfield is fueled by his promising performances and versatility on the field.
Gray gradually became a familiar presence in the training ground and had exposure to the first team before being granted his full first-team debut under manager Daniel Farke at the beginning of the current season.
The Whites are likely to be hesitant in letting go of their highly valued asset as interest from Liverpool, Crystal Palace, and Everton persists.

Despite Gray’s deep-rooted ties to Leeds, reports suggest the club could potentially command a fee for the youngster, with estimates ranging between £40-50 million.
However, the club faces the challenge of a potential departure if the midfielder does not show signs of extending his contract, which is set to expire in 2025.
