Leeds United are adamant teenage star Archie Gray is going nowhere in the January transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.
It is believed talks are in the works over a new contract which will include a big pay hike for the 17-year-old – who has caught the eye of elite English sides.
There is interest from Premier League giants such as Liverpool and Everton, while Crystal Palace have also watched the Leeds youngster in action.
However, Leeds see Gray as a huge asset and plan to rebuff any January offers for his services.
His current Elland Road deal is set to run until June 2025 after he penned his first professional deal in March.
The Whites are focused on returning to the Premier League this season following their relegation from the top flight earlier this year.
And Gray could be a big part of making that happen following his first-team breakthrough in the 2023-24 campaign.
The Durham-born starlet has racked up 17 appearances across all competitions, starring both in defensive midfield and at right-back.
He has played 90 minutes in six of the last seven Championship games despite his tender age.
Gray has continued a family dynasty at Elland Road – with father Andy and uncle Eddie both also plying their trade for Leeds.
The starlet made his England Under-20 debut last week (16 November) in a 3-0 loss against Italy.
Leeds are back in action on Friday (24 November) against fellow Yorkshire side Rotherham.
Daniel Farke’s side sit third in the Championship and are eight points adrift of the automatic promotion places.
