It looks like we’re in line for a thriller today against Newcastle.
That’s just on the basis of the games we’ve played since the start of October.
We’ve played 6 games in that time, and those matches have had 26 goals in them – 16 scored and 10 conceded.
That’s significantly more than anyone else in the league in that period. It’s been a hectic run, with mad draws against Arsenal and Man City sandwiching the chaotic game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Let’s hope we get a few more in favour than against us, anyway. St James’ Park will be roaring and this is going to be a tough test. But that atmosphere should push Newcastle forward and create gaps in behind them for us to exploit.
If we were betting, we’d fancy a 2-2 draw. But given we support Chelsea, let’s hope we find just one more and make it a thrilling 3-2 win. That would really make it a cheerful weekend.
