There are two changes to Mauricio Pochettino’s team today.
One is very much enforced – Moises Caicedo drops to the bench to be replaced by Lesley Ugochukwu after the Ecuadorian played 90 minutes twice on international duty and returned to the team just yesterday.
The other looks to be the opposite – Benoit Badiashile seems to be getting his first team chance, unless there’s an injury issue with Axel Disasi we don’t know about.
After making his long-awaited return against Blackburn in the EFL Cup, Badiashile has had to await his chance in the league, and today he gets it. Disasi has not done anything wrong, it’s just a question of giving everyone a chance to shine.
We were just starting to get familiar with Badiashile before the end of the season and his injury, and we loved some of the games he played. Let’s hope today we see him at his classy best and we can finally feel like we have some competition at centre back.
