Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel was feel fantastic after his squad dispatched Arsenal 1-0 in the Champions League to move on via an aggregate score of 3-2.
For Tuchel, the joy was a little short-lived as his immediate focus shifted toward a semifinal showdown vs. Real Madrid.
“Hopefully we get some players back to have alternatives and a full bench. But in terms of team effort and being ready to sacrifice and suffer together, this is the benchmark. There is no other way to play football games at this level,” Tuchel said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “It’ll be totally different because Real Madrid’s style is totally different to Arsenal. I didn’t watch Real Madrid too much this season. It’s one of the toughest games you can play. A semifinal against the biggest club in the world. We’re looking forward to the challenge and hopefully we’ll rise to the occasion.”
What a marquee matchup for hardcore fans and casuals alike.
