Arsenal’s Champions League tie with Bayern Munich could cause a scheduling issue for the Premier League, with the north London side set to rearrange their clash with Aston Villa.
Mikel Arteta‘s side have been drawn against Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals of the Champions League – having beaten Porto to reach this point in the competition.
The Gunners will host the German side – who signed England captain Harry Kane for £100million in August – at the Emirates in the first leg on April 9 before heading to Allianz Arena.
However, the Champions League tie has caused a scheduling issue for the Premier League – forcing Arsenal‘s clash with Aston Villa on Saturday April 13 to be rearranged.
As it stands, Arsenal are set to face Brighton the weekend before the first-leg and take on Aston Villa afterwards.

However, Arsenal’s clash with Villa will need to be pushed back to Sunday, April 14 as Unai Emery’s side will be playing in the quarter-final of the Europa Conference League on Thursday, April 11.
The alterations to the schedule will have a knock-on effect meaning Arsenal’s second-leg in Germany will need to take place on Wednesday, April 17.
However, Arsenal will benefit from Bayern Munich fans being banned from attending the Champions League quarter-final first leg at the Emirates.
UEFA sanctioned the reigning German champions earlier this week, with the supporters unable to attend the away fixture.
The ban was imposed after Bayern supporters threw fireworks onto the pitch during their match against Lazio earlier this month.
Bayern had previously been given a suspended one match ban on sales of tickets to away supporters, after fans had set off fireworks during their group match at Copenhagen in October.
Arsenal’s clash with Villa will need to be pushed back to Sunday, April 14 given the fact Emery’s side will be playing in the quarter-final of the Europa Conference League on Thursday, April 11

Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen admitted the club had to accept the ban, which was triggered after the latest incident against Lazio.
‘We have to accept this punishment. Not only were pyrotechnics set off, but also fired deliberately onto the field, directly endangering bystanders,’ said Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen.
‘This was such an explicit violation of the conditions of probation that an appeal is unfortunately futile.’
‘In general we’re very happy that we’re in the quarter-finals, but the fact we now have to play away without the support of our fans is a big blow.
‘A small group of individual offenders have done a disservice to all our supporters and the team.

‘However, I am confident that our team will find a way to deliver the top performance that will be needed in the quarter-finals.’
With Bayern Munich supporters banned from attending the match, Arsenal will be able to fill the away end with home supporters for the tie.
