Security at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will be on the lookout for Arsenal fans tonight amid concerns that home tickets for this title-defining clash are being targeted by supporters of their rivals.
Anyone found to be attending in support of Arsenal – as opposed to being a genuine Tottenham fan wanting to see their team take on Manchester City – will face ejection from the ground, Mail Sport has learned.
That is because they would be in violation of the club’s Ground Regulations as well as their Ticketing & Membership Terms and Conditions, Spurs insiders have said.
In the former, it is stated: ‘Any individual who has entered any part of the ground designated for the use of any group of supporters to which they do not belong may be ejected from the ground either for the purposes of their own safety or for any other reason.’
It was in April when one Arsenal fan who managed to secure a ticket in the Spurs section went viral after he revealed the red shirt he was wearing beneath his coat while the visitors’ celebrated their 3-2 away win. It is not known if extra security checks will be conducted at the turnstiles.
