Manchester City have offered €24m (£20m) for Flamengo attacking midfielder Lorran, according to Bolavip.com.
The Brazilian website claims that the Premier League champions have “monitored” the 17-year-old and they have been “delighted” with his recent performances.
Lorran made his senior debut for Flamengo at the beginning of the year, coming on as a substitute in the Campeonato Carioca State Championship game against Audax-RJ.
The teenager has subsequently made appearances in Brazil’s Serie A, the Brazilian Cup and the Copa Libertadores.
Lorran’s first goal came against Bangu-RJ in late January during a 1-1 draw, and he scored his second (along with an assist) against Corinthians in a 2-0 league victory last month.
City will have to see off Real
Bolavip report that European champions Real Madrid are also keeping tabs on the young midfielder. They have strong connections in Brazil, having recruited the likes of Vinicius Jnr and Rodrygo over the years, as well as Endrick more recently.
The deal for Vinicius is probably the most pertinent one as they signed him from Lorran’s club Flamengo back in 2018.
What are City’s plans for Lorran?
It is believed that the City Football Group have made the offer for the Brazilian which suggests that he would be moved to one of the Cityzens’ feeder clubs initially.
The club do have a history of doing this, with Savio (for example) having joined Troyes first before being loaned to Girona. The 20-year-old is expected to join City this summer.
In terms of Lorran, a transfer away from Flamengo is only expected to take place at the end of the Brazilian season, which would mean the next transfer window in January, rather than the current one. We shall see if other sources add substance to this story over the coming days and weeks.
