Bayern Munich attacker Serge Gnabry missed out on the EUROs due to an injury, though it was debatable on whether or not he would have secured a position on Julian Nagelsmann’s squad anyway.
Things have not gotten much better for Gnabry, though, as he is still scuffling to get back to 100% per Bild (as captured by @iMiaSanMia):
Serge Gnabry is not fully fit yet after the many injuries he suffered last season. Gnabry is currently working on his fitness at Säbener Straße ahead of the start of preseason, but he didn’t look lively yet in sprints — Boey and Guerreiro were more agile in changes of direction, and he also lacked precision with his finishing.
On Monday, the 28-year old was only able to take part in 40 minutes of the one-hour session. Then on Tuesday, his performance was less than lively. Gnabry still needs to work on his fitness for a few more days. From the club’s perspective, he’s a candidate for sale — but the player is currently not thinking about leaving Bayern, even after the signing of another competitor for his position in Michael Olise.
There will be great competition in the attack for Bayern Munich, so Gnabry’s health could become a major issue for him — and could have an affect on how new coach Vincent Kompany views the forward as he formulates his plans.
Gnabry has been adamant that he wants to stay with Bayern Munich, but he could be in search of role for the 2024/25 season.
