Some switched on fans have noticed that a player is on trial at Man City despite him being registered to another team.
The player was included in the squad list for City’s pre-season tour of the US.
The travelling group was made up 27 players which included stars such as Kalvin Phillips, Erling Haaland and Jack Grealish.
But eagle-eyed supporters spotted that one member of the squad is actually registered to the French team Troyes, who are also owned by City.
Amar Fatah, who turned 20 this year, spent last season on loan at another team that are part of the City Group, Lommel SK.
Man City fans are now curious as to whether or not they will see the Swede play for Pep Guardiola‘s team during the trip across the Atlantic.
One posted: ‘We need to see Amar Fatah play some minutes.’ A second commented: ‘Is he gonna play?’
A third wrote: ‘How is that possible?’
A fourth said: ‘Man like Amar Fatah.’
Another added: ‘Fateh will be great I’m sure.’
The Athletic have offered an explanation as to Fateh’s inclusion in Guardiola’s squad.
The 20-year-old is reportedly with the club after receiving treatment for an injury he suffered last season.
It is claimed that he will go on the tour with the Citizens to aid his ongoing recovery.
During the tour, Man City will play high-profile friendlies against Celtic, AC Milan, Barcelona and Chelsea.
