Danny Rohl is among the names to have been considered by Leicester as they seek a replacement for Steve Cooper though the Sheffield Wednesday boss is not currently thought to be among the front runners.
Rohl did a stunning job to save Wednesday from relegation to League One last summer and has them solidly in mid-table in the Championship this term.
He is considered one of the brightest young managers outside the top flight.
Rohl has a significant compensation clause in the new deal he signed with Wednesday last summer, and has no experience of top-flight management.
That is why he is unlikely to get the nod this time, but the very fact Leicester have considered the 35-year-old at all shows how quickly he has made an impression, in barely a year at Hillsborough.
Rohl is known to have impressed Foxes recruitment chief Martyn Glover when both were working at Southampton.

Leicester, who sit 17th in the Premier League, are hoping to avoid an immediate return to the Championship
Leicester have yet to settle on Cooper’s long-term successor with time ticking down to their next league match, at Brentford on Saturday.
Neither Graham Potter nor David Moyes is currently under consideration though it is understood there were tentative discussions with both in the hours after Cooper’s departure.
Ruud van Nistelrooy pushed for the job last summer when Enzo Maresca left Leicester for Chelsea and he remains a candidate this time.
Leicester are known to have spoken to at least one coach from overseas and were also interested in West Brom’s Carlos Corberan last summer. Like Rohl, however, Corberan would need to be bought out of his contract, with the clause thought to be about £4million.
